Summary: Jun wonders if finding out sho had a boyfriend was a sign that he should give up on his feelings.

Jun was done. He really didn’t know how much more he could take of this. He knew he had responsibility as his clan’s heir, but that didn’t make it any better. Ever since he had turned 16, he had to sit in on meetings about the supernatural community. The Matsumoto Clan was one of the most powerful vampire clans, alongside the Sakurai clan. Once a week, a representative of every supernatural clan with a seat on the council would gather and talk about the issues currently in their community. It was pretty boring, and the only thing really keeping him sane was Sho. They had grown up alongside of each other, both being heirs to their vampire clans.

Just for a day he’d really like to take a break from all this clan business. Thankfully, the meeting he was in wrapped up while he was lost in thought, and he had no more meetings for the rest of the day.

“Jun-kun, you have nothing else planned for the rest of the day, right?” Jun looked up at Sho.

“Not that I know of.” He hoped this meant Sho would get him out and away from the clan buildings.

“Good, because I’d like to introduce you to my boyfriend.” Boyfriend…? Jun could feel his heart clenching, Sho wasn’t just Jun’s childhood friend, he was the love of his life. It hurt hearing those words come out of his mouth.

“This is a surprise, this is the first I’ve heard of you dating at all. If you’re introducing him to me he must be important to you.” Sho barely ever introduced him to people he dated, which Jun greatly appreciated sometimes because being in love with Sho and being introduced to his boyfriend was not easy at all.

“Well I’ve been keeping it a secret because I wanted to be sure. His name is Ohno Satoshi and well he’s human. I really like him and I wanted to be sure he wasn’t secretly a supernatural creature hater so I told him I was a vampire, I wasn’t going to continue seeing him if he reacted badly to me being a vampire. Thankfully he was pretty good about the whole me being a vampire, turns out he knows a lot of supernatural creatures.” They both knew what it was liked to be feared and rejected for being a vampire, it was usually why they avoided dating humans. As much as he wanted to be happy for Sho he couldn’t stop the pain he felt just knowing Sho would never be his.

“If he makes you happy then I’d be happy to meet him.” Jun gave Sho a smile, pretending everything was ok.

Sho took him to a small cafe in what looked to be a dead neighborhood, Jun thought it was a weird place to set up a cafe. The inside had a very rustic setting compared to how run-down the outside looked. It seemed to a be a popular cafe judging by the fact it was quite busy. Jun didn’t quite understand why a cafe in a run down area was this popular. Why did he accept to meet Sho’s boyfriend, anyway? He hadn’t even meet the man yet and he already wanted to go home and pretend this wasn’t happening.

“Sho-chan this is a surprise, you usually only come on Wednesdays. Oh-chan, your boyfriend is here! Now this must be the famous Jun-kun you’ve told us so much about? I’m ninomiya kazunari, it's a pleasure to meet you!” Sho had talked about him to his friends? He guessed it shouldn’t be that surprising considering they were childhood friends. A short man, with round cheeks who was covered in flour strolled in from out back. He assumed this was Ohno Satoshi, Sho’s new boyfriend.

Sho walked up to the smaller man and pulled him into a long embrace before pulling him in for a short kiss. “Sorry for not telling you I was coming, it was kind of a spontaneous decision. I’d like to introduce you to Jun-kun, my best friend since childhood. Jun-kun this is Ohno Satoshi, my boyfriend.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Ohno-san, I can’t say I’ve heard much about you seeing as Sho-kun only told me about you this morning.” Jun really just wanted to leave, he didn’t know how much longer he could take seeing them together. Just the thought of them together hurt Jun.

“Why don’t you two love birds catch up out back and I look after your friend here.” Ohno took Sho’s hand and dragged him out back, Jun assumed they would be doing a lot of catching up. Great. “You’re in love with him, aren’t you?” Jun eyes widen in surprise, he was taken aback by the other’s question.

“I’m sorry I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m very happy for Sho-kun.” The barista rolled his eyes.

“I see the pain and jealousy in your eyes, Matsumoto Jun, you may be able to hide it from oblivious friends but you can’t hide it from me.” Jun felt like Nino was looking into his mind, with the way those deep black eyes continued to stare right into him. “Ok, I’ve decided!”

Jun took a sudden step back, surprised at Nino’s suddenly outbursts. “Decided what exactly?”

“I’m going to help you forget about Sho! Your feelings deserve better, you deserve better! I can’t believe Sho hasn’t noticed your feelings and then went to introduce you to your boyfriend, that’s pretty mean. Moping over him isn’t going to do anything for you, especially seeing as he’s dating Oh-chan now. So we’re going to find you a better boyfriend!” Jun was all for getting over Sho but dating someone new? Jun screwed his nose up at the idea.

“I am giving up on Sho but that doesn’t mean I’m ready for a relationship. I’ve been in love with Sho for a long time, my feelings aren't so shallow that they’ll just disappear overnight. Up until today I didn’t even know he was in a relationship.” Jun snapped, almost yelling. He flushed, embarrassed by his outburst. He stood up, placing a few bills on the counter for his coffee before leaving the building leaving a stunned Nino behind.

“Wait, where are you going?” He didn't receive an answer. Nino felt incredibly guilty, once again he had unintentionally hurt someone because he underestimated their feelings. It was conversations like that where Nino hated not being able to understand human feelings, being a kitsune of deception he could feel human emotions but he never did understand them. Nino wanted to run after him and apologize but he knew it would likely make matters worse. Lost in his own thoughts he hadn’t noticed Sho and Ohno had returned from out back.

“Where did Jun go?” Nino shrugged.

“Said he had to do something and had to leave. I'm going to close up shop, if you don't need anything I’ll leave locking up to you?” Ohno looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it, leaving Nino to do what he wanted.

Jun felt like crap, currently all he wanted to do was drink and cry hoping it would help him forget. He stumbled up to his apartment to find his roomate Aiba arriving home.

“Jun! You’re home early, I thought you’d have- Jun, what's wrong, you’re crying!” Aiba opened the door, leading them inside before pulling Jun into an embrace and letting him use his shoulder to cry on. Aiba waited until Jun had calmed down before asking what happened.

“Sho introduced me to his boyfriend today.” Aiba knowing about Jun’s feelings for Sho, hugged him harder. He’d had his fair share of heartbreak, it was horrible each time. “I think this time Sho might actually be serious, Ohno, Sho’s boyfriend, is quite nice too. I can’t even hate the man.”

“Why don’t I make you some hot tea and we watch a movie?” Jun nodded, when Aiba returned he found that had fallen asleep. He frowned, Jun’s eyes were red and puffy from crying. He placed a blanket on Jun, he couldn’t believe Sho would do such a thing. Aiba knew very well that Sho knew about Jun’s feelings. Even if Sho didn’t feel the same way it didn’t give him the right to break Jun’s heart in pieces. The next time Aiba saw him he was going to give him a piece of his mind.

Jun woke up to the sound of the doorbell buzzing, he looked around realizing he must have fallen asleep on the couch. He ran a hand through his hair before getting up to answer the door. He opened the door to reveal Nino.

“Jun-pon! Someone looks like they just woke up.” Jun simply growled, still not quite awake enough to form sentences.

“I’m sorry about yesterday, what I said was rude and a out of line. It was none of my business and I shouldn’t have pushed the issue.” He was apologizing. Jun stared for a few minutes before trying to form a sentence.

“I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have snapped like I did. How on earth did you find my address though?”

“Sho-san gave it to me, I told him I said something rude to you yesterday and wished to apologize. I brought food from my cafe to apologize.” Jun thought about it before inviting the man inside. He took the bag of food, opening it to reveal pastries he’d spotted in Nino’s cafe.

“These look good! Did Ohno-san make them?” He took a bite, moaning in pleasure over how good they tasted.

“Actually I made these ones. Oh-chan’s off for the next few days on a fishing trip so I’m in charge of making food, while I’m not as good Oh-chan I’m really glad you like them.” Nino gave him a genuine smile, unlike his usual smirk that Jun was used to. Jun felt something flutter in his stomach, Jun found that Nino’s smile was actually quite cute.

“So did you only come here to give me pastries or do you have some ulterior motives? I can never tell with you.” Nino threw his hands in the air, his expression was clearly guilty.

“Ah you caught me. Yes I did come here for something else, something I’ve thought long and hard about. Sho-san doesn’t deserve your feelings, you deserve someone who’ll treasure you and your feelings. I know you got angry to me yesterday for suggesting this but Jun-kun will you let me help you get over your feelings for Sho-san and fall in love with me instead?” Jun wasn’t sure what to say, he couldn’t believe that someone would be willing to go that far for him.

“The truth is I know a lot about you, Sho-kun often talks about you and I guess at some point I had fallen for you without realizing. Meeting you in person, that was when I realized the full extend of my feelings. I know I’m not Sho-kun but I want to be selfish and have you fall in love with me!” Jun was shocked with Nino’s proposal, his heart began to beat faster. He was at a loss for words, he’d been in love with sho for the longest time and had never considered anyone else. Maybe just maybe he could fall for Nino.

“Nino-kun thank you really, I’m grateful that you feel that way about me. If you’ll wait for me then I’ll gladly accept your feelings.” Jun cradled Nino’s hands in his own placing a small kiss on them. “I should probably tell you this before we start doing this, I’m a vampire.”

Jun expected a shocked a gasp or an angry outburst not for him to burst out in laughter. “Jun I’ve known that since before I meet you. You forget that Sho-san is dating my best friend who tells me nearly everything. Plus I’m a fox demon so I could tell even if you hadn’t told me.”

“A fox demon?!” Somehow that explained a lot, Jun could feel an invisible force attracting him towards Nino but him being a fox demon explained it.

“Even if I wasn’t I couldn’t care less what you are, Jun-kun is Jun-kun!” Jun felt his face flush at Nino’s words. “Jun-kun you really are to cute. If it’s alright with you can I give you a kiss?” Jun nodded and a pointed to his cheek. Nino leaned over the table placing a small peck on his cheek.

“Thank you Jun-kun, I look forward to being with you from now on.” Jun simply smiled.
